Get 1Click Maker

FAQ โ€‹

Selling and customers โ€‹

Can I sell HUDs made with 1Click Maker?

Yes. Products you build are yours. Finish the project before distributing so no assets or the BUILD script travel with it.

Do my customers need 1Click Maker?

No. The finished HUD contains everything it needs (*FUNCTIONS, add-ons, animations). Customers just wear it.

Can customers see my textures?

Not after Finish: textures are removed from the object and referenced by UUID inside protected script memory. UUIDs are not exposed in notecards or descriptions.

What permissions should I set on the finished HUD?

Whatever you sell with. Copy/no-transfer is the common choice for HUDs. The scripts do not require modify rights to work.

Does the HUD work if my customer gives it to someone else?

The target's channel travels with the object, so a HUD and a garment given together to a third person keep working for that person, as long as both are theirs.

Projects โ€‹

How many projects can I have?

There is no limit. Every object with *BUILD that chose NEW is a project. Old projects stay in the cloud.

Can two people work on the same project?

Anyone with the link can open the panel, but the HUD must be rezzed by its owner for scans and builds. In practice, one creator per project.

I lost the link.

Rez the object with *BUILD inside, hold-click it, choose EDIT. Reopen a Project.

Can I copy a project to another HUD?

Yes: CLONE in the BUILD menu creates a duplicate project for the object you are holding. Then swap targets with Bulk Edit if needed.

Is my project deleted when I press Finish?

No. Finish cleans the object, not the project. Reopen it anytime with EDIT.

Building โ€‹

Why must the HUD be on the ground?

A Second Life bug can lose data stored in attached objects when they are edited. See Second Life Quirks.

How do I test as a customer?

Take a copy to inventory and wear the copy. Keep the original on the ground.

Can a HUD control several objects?

Yes. Scan them all as targets; each action picks one target. A Color Picker can control several at once.

Can the HUD control an object I did not make?

Only objects with *TARGETS inside, which requires modify rights on that object. Full-perm or your own objects only.

Prim Mode or UI Mode?

Prim Mode for HUDs made of separate prims and for a few buttons; UI Mode (PRO) for single-prim HUDs with many buttons. Both can coexist. See Modes.

Textures and PBR โ€‹

Blinn-Phong or PBR?

If your customers use current viewers, PBR looks better. Blinn-Phong is universal. PBR Custom with Also apply in Blinn-Phong gives both.

Do I need to keep textures in the HUD forever?

No. Scan them once; after Finish they are removed and referenced by UUID.

Can I use a texture by UUID without owning it?

Technically yes, but only use textures you have the rights to distribute.

Plans and updates โ€‹

What does PRO add?

All actions, about 12ร— the memory, Bulk Edit, Color Picker, UI Mode and early access to new features. FREE vs PRO.

How do I update the scripts?

Get a redelivery on the Marketplace, replace the scripts in the rezzed object, choose EDIT when the menu appears, Build. The Scripts.

Will an update break my old projects?

Projects are kept compatible. When a version needs changes on your side (for example the switch to link names in 1.2.0), the release notes say what to do.

Where do I report a bug or suggest a feature?

The Feedback button in the panel, or a message to Prootoxy Resident in Second Life.
